Q. When is the last day I can vote?
A. See this page for the key dates. You can vote for as long as the voting form allows you to.

Q. How can I vote?
A. We only accept votes using our official on-line voting form. We do not accept votes by e-mail, post, telephone or any other means.

Q. How many times can I vote?
A. ONLY ONE confirmed submission of the voting form is allowed per person, per awards.

Q. Do I have to vote in all of the categories?
A. No, you can vote for as many or as few as you like. So make sure you have decided on all the categories you wish to vote in, before you fill it in. You will not get a second chance.

Q. Can I change my mind and change my votes?
A. After submitting the voting form, you will have a short time in which to check your votes, and if you wish to change your mind you may cancel your votes within this time, and vote again. This is the only circumstance in which we will allow further submissions of the voting form. However, once you have confirmed your votes, you cannot then change your mind. Once your vote is confirmed, please do not submit further votes or this will disqualify all of your votes including the original ones. See the voting guide for more details.

Q. Do you have any running totals of current votes?
A. No, in order not to bias voting, we do not issue lists of the top votes so far.

Q. Why do I have to fill in my personal details?
A. We do not allow anonymous voting. Your details are ONLY used to identify and verify the integrity of your vote. See the terms and privacy policy for more details.

Q. I'm not sure what brand a particular firework I want to vote for is, can I still vote?
A. Please find out the relevant information before you vote. Many brands have similar sounding fireworks. In view of this, in the case of any ambiguity with your vote, it will be disallowed.

Q. How do I know my vote was accepted?
A. You will receive an e-mail confirming your votes with instructions on how to either validate your votes and make them final, or cancel them. Once you have confirmed your votes you will receive a further confirmation e-mail. If you received confirmation e-mails after submitting and then confirming your vote, then barring any technical problems, your vote will have been received OK.

Q. How are the votes counted and checked?
A. For reasons which should be obvious, we are not able to go into the technical or security aspects of the voting system or the manner in which we check votes. Rest assured, we will take every practical and reasonable step to ensure the results are valid and fair.

Q. Do UKFR members or advertisers get special treatment?
A. Absolutely not. Although the UK Firework Awards is published by the UK Firework Review, we have gone out of our way to promote the awards as a separate venture. Although our impartiality should not be in question anyway (because of the content of UKFR and the fact that we don't sell fireworks), we have taken additional steps to reassure voters and the trade. These include allowing votes from the UK public without having to join anything, register, or pay anything. We also allow and encourage ALL eligible retailers to make use of our Retailer Support services (contact us for details), irrespective of whether they advertise with us.

Q. I am not willing to give you my personal details, can I still vote?
A. We cannot stress enough that we only ask for your personal details to prove your identity, to allow us to use a system that can validate your vote, and to give us the option of contacting you if required to check your vote is bonafide. Existing members of UKFR will know that we already have extremely strict privacy policies and for your peace of mind these are in writing for you here. As such, because our request for your personal details is genuine we ask you to help us by filling in these details. Unfortunately, if you are not willing to fill these in, we regret that we are not willing to consider your vote.

Q. I am not willing to give you my e-mail address, can I still vote?
A. An e-mail address is required to validate your vote on-line and in case we need to contact you as described in our privacy policy. We will not contact you for any reason not connected specifically with your vote and we never give your details to anyone else. Sorry, but as a valid e-mail address is required, we cannot accept votes without one. Please note that a valid e-mail address will be required to validate your vote after you have submitted the voting form. Non-validated votes are not forwarded to us and are deleted after a set time.

Q. I am having technical difficulties voting, what can I do?
A. We have tried to make this site and the voting form as simple as possible, however, you will need an up to date browser that supports Javascript to use the voting form. Nearly all current versions of popular browsers will be fine. If you are experiencing any problems, please use Internet Explorer V6+ We regret that we cannot offer technical support for individual browser configurations nor accept votes by any other means.

Q. What are the significance of these awards?
Q. What are the benefits of winning?
Q. Can I vote for myself or my own fireworks?
Q. My shop/company (etc) would be eligible for one or more awards. How can I maximise my potential to win?
Q. Can I use the awards logo on my website or in my brochures, flyers and shop?
Q. Is there a prize for winning?
Q. What other help can you give us?
Q. What are the negative commercial implications of linking to the awards?

Q. What are the significance of these awards?
A. These awards are very significant. The UK Firework Review has grown to become the biggest fireworks website in the UK. There is no bigger or better website working to promote fireworks for enthusiasts AND the trade. The UKFR has annual hit rates in excess of one million. Furthermore, there are no other formal award schemes in operation, no awards that can reach the number of voters we can and no awards that are run by a genuinely independent concern. In short, the UK Firework Awards will provide, we believe, the best and most credible indication of what the UK public thinks.

Q. What are the benefits of winning?
A. Imagine being able to promote your company, website or stock with the prestigious honour of an award. When the results are announced there will be a Best Retailer, Best Shop and so on. Take part, tell your customers to vote for you. The benefits of winning include recognition of your achievements and increased publicity. In turn, new customers will shop with winners, because other enthusiasts have voted them the best.

Q. Can I vote for myself or my own fireworks?
A. You cannot vote for your own shop or company. But providing you are not a manufacturer, you may vote for your fireworks if you think they are the best. Please see the voting conditions for full details.

Q. My shop/company (etc) would be eligible for one or more awards. How can I maximise my potential to win?
A. We offer Retailer Support services including advice on how to maximise your chances in a fair and allowable manner; contact us for details. In general, the more customers you tell about the awards and encourage to vote for you, the better your chances are. We are also undertaking significant promotion of the awards on UKFR and other sites to generate as much interest as possible.

Q. Can I use the awards logo on my website or in my brochures, flyers and shop?
A. Subject to terms and conditions, yes. Contact us for more details about our Retailer Support section which covers all this information and more.

Q. Is there a prize for winning?
A. At time of writing, there is no material prize for winning. However, the award winners will receive a significant amount of publicity on-line on this site and UKFR. They will also be able to use the official winning award logo to promote their businesses and services, and awards such as "Best Retailer" will offer a significant amount of positive marketing possibilities.

Q. What other help can you give us?
A. These awards are intended to find and promote the best in the fireworks trade as voted for by the public (YOUR customers). We will work with any retailer or company to help them get the most out of these awards, so after contacting us for access to our Retailer Support section, if you have any other questions, let us know.

Q. What are the negative commercial implications of linking to the awards?
A. None. We have specifically ensured that there is no third party competitive advertising on this site other than sponsors who are not eligible for awards. You can safely refer customers to this site. You have more to lose by not doing so!

Q. What is your privacy policy?
Q. Who owns or publishes these awards?
Q. I am a journalist (etc) can I contact you to discuss your awards or to feature your results in the press?
Q. Can I use parts of your website on my own site or other material?

Q. What is your privacy policy?
A. We have a very strict policy. Our privacy guarantee is in addition to any normal legal rights you have. Remember, the aim of our voting form is not to find your life story, just to get enough information to satisfy us that your vote is genuine and to allow us to contact a sample of votes to check their authenticity.

Q. Who owns or publishes these awards?
A. The UK Firework Awards are published by the UK Firework Review (UKFR) web site. UKFR members have asked on many occasions that we create an awards scheme so that they and other enthusiasts can have their say in what fireworks and retailers are the best.

A. Yes. Please contact us and be sure to include a daytime land-line telephone number preferably your office number. Please state who you work for.
